Bed Wetting Alarm

A bed wetting alarm is considered by some doctors to be the safest, most effective method for treating bedwetting. The alarms have a moisture censor that attach to the child’s pajamas. The bed wetting alarm goes off when the child begins to urinate. The alarm stops the child from urinating.

Because children who wet the bed tend to be heavy sleepers, it is not uncommon for someone else to have to wake the child when the bed wetting alarm goes off. Someone often needs to walk the child to the bathroom and encourage them to use the toilet.

When the child returns to bed, the bed wetting alarm needs to be reset. Eventually, the child learns to wake up and use the bathroom at the sound of the bed wetting alarm. These alarms have about a 95% success rate.

An alternative to the bed wetting alarm is to set a regular alarm clock for a few hours after bedtime. When the alarm goes off, the child needs to be awakened and encouraged to use the toilet. The alarm can then be set to go off again in a few hours. The alarm can gradually be set for longer time intervals.
